Intelligent systems can be defined as the integration of hardware and software to create a new system that exceeds the capabilities of the hardware alone. In this talk Dr. Timothy Burg will describe recent projects in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University that capitalize on this promise. Example systems will be used to frame the discussion as we explore the tools of mechatronic design including automation of the table top game "Shoot the Moon", cell printing for tissue engineering, and haptics for laparoscopic surgery training. 主讲人简介：Dr. Timothy Burg is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Clemson University located in Clemson, South Carolina, USA. He has extensive experience in industrial application of robotics and nonlinear control design techniques and the academic investigation of the basis and future directions of these techniques. His recent work has centered on the application of these tools to tissue fabrication systems. |
